Tom Hardy goes to extremes for his revenge in ‘Taboo’
Television in 2017 is set to start off with a bang thanks to Taboo, a dark and twisted historical series from FX and the BBC, which finds Tom Hardy plagued by madness.
Here’s the synopsis:
After being written off for dead in Africa, adventurer James Keziah Delaney (Hardy) returns to 1800s England to claim a fortune in diamonds and exact his revenge against the East India Trading Company following the mysterious death of his father.
Developed by Hardy and his father Chips, the eight-part miniseries drew the attention of Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Peaky Blinders), and the result is a completely deranged and wicked tale of greed, lust and revenge. Hardy has made a career for himself playing a stream of out of control nutters, but his portrayal of James Keziah Delaney is certain to leave an impression on audiences both with its viciousness and intensity.
Taboo will premiere on January 7, 2017.
