2017 is going to be an epic year for Hollywood’s coolest actor, Jason Momoa, and after an awesome first season on Discovery, Momoa’s gritty historical adventure series, Frontier, is heading to Netflix.
Set in the late 18th century, Frontier chronicles the adventures of part Irish, part Native American fur trapper Declan Harp (Momoa), who has a blood debt to settle with the Hudson Bay Company’s monopoly on the fur trade.

The initial eight episodes proved so successful that Discovery quickly ordered a second season, which is currently shooting at the moment, and Frontier is sure to get an added boost now that it is coming to Netflix. Frontier is also the latest show in a long list of television series that are taking a far more hard-edged approach to the historical genre, including Vikings, Black Sails and the recently released Taboo.
In addition to Frontier, Momoa has plenty of new releases that will drop this year including action-thriller Braven, crime comedy Once Upon A Time In Venice with Bruce Willis, and the highly anticipated Justice League.
Frontier is set to premiere on Netflix on January 20.
