We’re weeks away from the release of high adventure monster movie Kong: Skull Island, and the filmmakers and cast have invited audiences inside this fantastic new world in a brand new IMAX featurette.
Headlining the cast is Tom Hiddleston as Captain James Conrad, a former SAS officer turned mercenary who is hired by a research team to help track down the mysterious beast known as Kong. On the production and filmmaking process that incorporated IMAX cameras Hiddleston said, “this film will be an immersive spectacle, you’ve got Kong at hundred feet tall, it really has to be seen in IMAX.” Hiddleston also commented that he hoped the film would inspire “wonder and awe” from the audience as well.
The new featurette also profiles Samuel L. Jackson’s gung-ho Lt. Col. Preston Packard, who is determined to hunt down and eradicate Kong, and Brie Larson’s photojournalist and peace activist Mason Weaver, who has her own purposes for being on Skull Island.
Kong: Skull Island will be released on March 9 in New Zealand and Australia and on March 10 in the US and UK.
