Oprah Winfrey is pretty much everyone’s favourite human right? She’s definitely one of mine.
Apart from being a badass business women, she’s a producer, philanthropist and damn fine actor to boot. Seriously what can’t she do?
While Winfrey has been in the news lately for her role in Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle In Time, her next acting gig to reach audiences will actually be HBO’s The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.
Based on the novel by Rebecca Skloot, the film tells the story of Henrietta Lacks (Renee Elise Goldsberry), a woman who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in the 1950s. Her cancer cells, known as HeLa, changed the course of cancer treatment. Check out the first trailer below:
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks also stars Rose Byrne and Courtney B. Vance, and will premiere on HBO on April 22.
