A battle for the throne will begin in ‘Vikings’ season five
Season four of Vikings left fans on edge with its shocking conclusion. But now they had better choose their favourite sides as a full-on civil war is about to rip the Ragnarsons apart in season five.
Not only will the Ragnarsons be battling themselves for control of the coveted throne of Kattegat, but they will also have to face down the religious fanaticism of Jonathan Rhys Meyer’s Bishop Heahmund.
The new trailer is particularly gritty, and young star Alex Hogh Anderson has come into his own as the brutal Ivar the Boneless, filling the absence of Travis Fimmel’s Ragnar.

Vikings season five will run for 20 episodes and will premiere on November 29, 2017.
