Hollywood legend John Travolta has nailed every detail of the infamous mob boss John Gotti in his new biopic which chronicles the rise and fall of one of the mafia’s most sensational leaders.
Beginning in the mid-1980s, Gotti charts the rise to power of mob hand John Gotti, who seized power at the end of the barrel of the gun, and then who taunted law enforcement at every turn earning him the nickname of the ‘Teflon Don’.
Directed by Kevin Connelly, Gotti has amazing period detail, and Travolta went to extreme lengths to get the character of Gotti perfect, which included wearing the mob bosses own jewellery and ties.
While Gotti is set within the dangerous world of the Mafia, it is also very much a film about John Gotti’s role as a family man, and Travolta’s own wife, Kelly Preston, steps into the role of Gotti’s wife Victoria. Rounding out the cast is Spencer Lofranco as Gotti’s son John Jr., who followed his father into the mob life and Stacey Keach as Aniello Dellacroce, Gotti’s mentor in the Gambino Crime Family.
Gotti is set to be released on December 15.
