Cate Blanchett gets evil for ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
Marvel fans are salivating with just weeks to go until the release of Taika Waiti’s Thor: Ragnarok and Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett look’s ready to steal the show as bad girl villainess Hela.
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first ever villainess Blanchett is seriously raising the stakes as Hela, the Norse goddess of death, who escapes her prison and vows to unleash a terrifying vengeance upon Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.
A brand new featurette has just been released and offers fans an insight into Blanchett’s performance, and the significance that her casting has for the MCU.
From all accounts, Blanchett appears to have had the time of her life on the set of Thor: Ragnarok and to be able to put both Thor and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in their place she trained in the Brazilian art of Capoeira alongside noted New Zealand stunt performer Zoe Bell in preparation for the role.
In addition to learning more about Hela’s character the new featurette also offers plenty of gorgeous footage from the upcoming film and showcases a duel of epic proportions that will be waged between Thor and Hela for the future of Asgard.
Thor: Ragnarok is a film of blockbuster proportions and will be released in cinemas on October 26.
