The King is here in new trailer for ‘Black Panther’

It’s a good time to be a Marvel fan, not only do we the impending release of Thor: Ragnarok in less than two weeks time, but we now the brand new trailer for Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther has arrived.

Check out the awesomeness below:

Here’s the synopsis:

Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) returns to the advanced kingdom of Wakanda where he becomes its new king. After returning home, he must keep his kingdom from being destroyed by both inside and outside enemies.

The new trailer for Black Panther is simply AMAZING! Not only are we treated to a whole bunch of wicked new footage that highlights the lavishness of the lost world of Wakanda, but we also witness some epically nail-biting action sequences.

From the moment he stepped up to assume the mantle of T’Challa/Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman has been a star to keep one’s eye on, and he truly is Kingly in his portrayal. Both Boseman and director Ryan Coogler seem to be exploring the very notion of what it means to be royalty and the responsibility and repercussions that come from the choices one makes. T’Challa’s acceptance of his destiny and his dual role as both a superhero and a king will surely be called into question.

The trailer also shines a spotlight on Black Panther’s fantastic supporting cast which includes Michael B. Jordan as T’Challa’s ruthless enemy Erik Killmonger who seeks to usurp the Wakandan throne. Totally jacked and bearing a grudge the normally jovial Jordan is a full-on bad boy here. Danai Gurira is completely no-nonsense as the tough-as-nails Okoye, an extremely proud Wakandan who is also the commander of the all-female Wakandan special forces unit, The Dora Milaje, and is not afraid of pulling T’Challa into line when he needs it. Finally, screen goddess Angela Bassett brings a regal quality and great respect as Ramonda, the Queen Mother of Wakanda, who understands the great destiny that awaits her only son and provides much-needed guidance for him

Visually Black Panther looks absolutely stunning and I’m very impressed that the filmmakers have used African design and a bold use of colour to distinguish this film from all of the other entries in the MCU. It creates an amazing point of difference for Black Panther, and will surely be a treat for long-time Marvel fans.

Black Panther is all kinds of amazing and fans will be very pleased to see it when it is released on February 15, 2018 in Australia and NZ.
