It’s always exciting when Alexander Payne returns to cinemas, and the esteemed directors latest project, Downsizing, looks like one quirky film experience.
Check out the new trailer below:
Here’s the synopsis:
Overrun and burnt out, everyman Paul Safranek (Matt Damon) learns of the miraculous new concept of ‘Downsizing’, where human beings can be shrunk to five inches tall and can begin their lives anew in the miniaturised community of Leisureland. Deciding that it will improve their lives Paul and his wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) volunteer for the controversial procedure, but everything changes when Audrey decides to backs out at the last minute.
Downsizing is an interesting choice for Damon, especially in his choice to play this very average and ordinary character who begins to question his life and the possibilities that remain in it. This style of character together with Payne’s unique direction will undoubtedly make for a very different experience for filmgoers.
Downsizing will be released in cinemas on January 25.
