If you’re looking for a celestial adventure then you’ve come to the right place with director Ava DuVernay’s lavish big-budget adaptation of A Wrinkle In Time.
The new trailer has just been released and it is astonishing. Check it out below:
Here’s the synopsis:
Following the disappearance of her father (Chris Pine), typical middle school student Meg Murray (Storm Reed) has become withdrawn from the world. But when three celestial guides (Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling) arrive on earth Meg is swept up into a fantastical adventure that will see her travel across the cosmos to do battle with a terrible darkness that threatens the very universe itself.
Adapted from the classic children’s story by Madeleine L’Engle, DuVernay’s vision for this film is utterly spellbinding. The revered filmmaker has crafted a visually stunning piece of cinema with amazing set and costume design along with a terrific cast including the likes of Winfrey, Witherspoon and Kaling as the three Mrs. Ws: Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who.
I was also excited to learn that much of the film’s principal photography took place in New Zealand, and DuVernay and her team have used it to their utmost advantage.
A Wrinkle In Time will be released in cinemas next year on April 12, 2018.
