Stieg Larsson’s punk rock hacker heroine Lisbeth Salander captured the attention of the world, and now she’s ready to return to the big screen in a brand new way in The Girl in the Spider’s Web.
Acclaimed cult filmmaker Fede Álvarez is guiding Lisbeth back to the big screen this time and The Queen’s Claire Foy is taking on the role, and is promising something entirely new for fans this time.
The cast and crew recently talked about the film in Stockholm, and fans got their first look at Foy and her co-star Sverrir Gudnason who will be portraying crusading journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the film.
The thought of a new adaption of the Salander narrative is an exciting proposition, made even more so by the involvement of Álvarez. He’s a filmmaker who really pushes the boundaries, and who isn’t afraid to go to extremes and his presence in the film can only mean good things for the characters and the narrative.
The Girl in the Spider’s Web will be released in cinemas on November 8.
