Claire Foy is unrecognizable in the first trailer for ‘The Girl In The Spider’s Web’
Claire Foy is swapping elegance for goth punk rock in the intense first trailer for The Girl In The Spider’s Web which finds her starring as underground anti-hero Lisbeth Salander.
This new take on the long-running Millennium Series finds noted horror director Fede Alvarez at the helm, and the Uruguayan maestro appears to have crafted a film that has plenty of danger and grittiness to it.
Following a subtle tease, we now have a full length new trailer. Check it out below:
Here’s the synopsis.
Computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Foy) and her lover crusading journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Sverrir Gudnason) find themselves caught in a web of spies, cyber criminals and corrupt government officials after a mysterious figure from Lisbeth’s past resurfaces.
Loosely adapted from the fourth installment of the Millennium Trilogy, Alvarez appears to be putting his own spin on the story and Foy has really made Lizbeth her own. Rocking punk rock hair, black mascara and a pale complexion, she channels Lisbeth’s anti-hero persona and hate for the status quo with a vengeance.
It appears that The Girl In The Spider’s Web will focus on the sins of Lisbeth’s past and the sudden re-appearance of her estranged twin sister Camilla (Sylvia Hoeks) who she failed to help many years ago. These demons, and a host of despicable new villains, clearly fill this film with a sense of dread and menace.
The Girl In The Spider’s Web will be one of this year’s most intense watches and for those who have a sense for thrillers then it’ll definitely get your heart racing when it is released in cinemas on November 8.
