The action here is set to jump forward a few decades from the first film and will find Diana caught up in the 1980s and the Cold War that is brewing between the USA and the Soviet Union. When the world is threatened she’ll once again have to pick up her sword to defend it and she faces a new threat from rogue scientist Barbara Ann Minerva (Kirsten Wiig) who transforms into the powerful Cheetah.
The prospect of a new Wonder Woman film is very exciting and we’ve got our first look into the film with Diana coming face to face with the colorized television of the 1980s.
Audiences will also be in for a shock with the sudden appearance of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor who has somehow found his way back from the dead and appears to be alive and well in the 1980s. Whether this is actually the real Steve Trevor, a flashback, dream sequence or maybe a long lost relative who looks exactly like Diana’s lost lover remains to be seen, but Pine’s return is an exciting development for the film and will really mix things up going forward.
Get ready for a lot more wonder this time with Wonder Woman 1984 which will arrive in cinemas on November 1, 2019.
