The King lives in the first official trailer for Aquaman and it is an absolute rush.

Check it out below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) is a man born of two worlds but when his true home of Atlantis comes knocking he must accept his true self and venture deep below the service to combat the rising threat of an impending battle between the deep and the surface worlds, and claim his rightful position as King of the Seven Seas.

WHOAH!!! What a rush!!! I had my expectations set high for Aquaman and this trailer absolutely delivered on all of them. James Wan appears to have crafted a visual spectacular that takes audiences into a fantastic new world beneath the sea as we venture to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. This brightly coloured aquatic wonderland is packed out with fantastic sights and I can’t wait to see it in all its depth up on screen.

Momoa is a commanding presence up on screen and brings his same sense of rock n’roll badass cool to the role that we first saw in Justice League. Now he’s taking center stage he’s ready to do a phenomenal job as proves why he’s truly the King.

Joining him is the beautiful Amber Heard as his love interest Mera. A fearless and extraordinary ocean dweller she is the one to help him chart his destiny as the rightful ruler of Atlantis and the two share great chemistry up on screen. Plus she also appears to be a bit of a crazy redhead….which always leads to plenty of fun.

But while Momoa might be wanting the throne he’ll have to go through some tough competition in the form of his twisted half brother King Orm, The Ocean Master who does not kindly like the idea of the would-be usurper showing himself in his kingdom and who is played with significant malice by the wonderfully talented Patrick Wilson. Wilson is a James Wan regular and he really shapes up alongside Momoa, you can just sense the animosity that is boiling down between the two characters and their eventual duel for the trident is going to be a worthy battle.

The trailer also lets us lay our eyes on the first sight of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta. This ruthless modern day buccaneer has no qualms about using absolute barbarity to achieve his ends and he’s make a dangerous and deadly enemy for Momoa’s Aquaman.

Finally we also get to see the first appearances of Nicole Kidman’s Queen Atlanna and Temuera Morrison’s Thomas Curry, the parents of young Arthur who are their for him in his darkest hour and who shape him with the values that will make him the hero we need him to be.

The action and adventure of Aquaman looks outstanding and will really get audiences hyped up. I’m particularly excited to see the full-on battle that is about to rage under the surface along with the nightmarish world of The Trench, where Aquaman and Mera will have to venture through in order to find the light.
