We thought they were just stories, but these titanic beasts from a darker era are anything but that, and now they’re ready to unleash their ferocity upon the world in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which has just released its new trailer.

Watch it below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

After the events of Godzilla, a new threat is rising and crypto-zoological agency Monarch, must face off an impending battle of Earth’s god-like Titans, as Godzilla, Earth’s primordial protector collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these species rise once more to the surface, their war will be felt by all and humanity’s very existence will be left hanging in the balance.

Director Michael Dougherty looks to be following in line with the previous monster universes of Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island and he appears to have created another impressive blockbuster here. The stakes could not be higher this time as Godzilla, prepares to rage war with the likes of Mothra, Rodan and his arch-nemesis King Ghidorah…and it is sure to be an impressive battle.

But like the previous film Dougherty is grounding his film with a strong sense of drama and family loyalty here as scientist Mark Russell (Mark Russell) desperately searches for his ex-wife Dr. Emma Russell (Vera Farmiga) and his daughter Madison (Millie Bobby Brown) after they have been kidnapped by a rival organization to Monarch, after it is learned that Emma has found a way to communicate and control these monsters using their own bioacoustics.

The trailer really plays up the scares that are to come, and focuses in on how big the action is going to be….and long time monster fans will not be disappointed with this one here.
