Get ready for the ‘anti’ in antihero with ‘The Boys’

Heroes. Who needs em. Clearly not this group of badass bruisers who are keen on visiting plenty of pain onto the ‘superheroes’ of their world in The Boys.

The satire is readily present here as this PR promotional video tries to capture the extraordinary heroism and day-to-day goodwill of The Seven, an elite group of heroes led by the patriotic Homelander (Antony Starr).

However it’s also just a con as the Homelander is in reality just a brutal sadist and The Seven are little more than a punch of perverted, messed-up freaks who just happen to have superpowers and that means they’ve got to get dealt to by The Boys; an informal group of CIA trained vigilantes led by the psychopathic Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and who have one mission: unleash the pain on the heroes when they cross the line with ‘extreme prejudice’.

If you’re feeling excited for this series then you’re on the right track because it has the makings of an awesome piece of television and they’ll be plenty of fun to be had when it arrives on Amazon Prime next year.
