Here’s the official synopsis:
Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke) moves his family out of the big city to the country. There he discovers that they have moved near a pet cemetery that rests on an ancient burial ground, and when his daughter is killed in an auto accident, he takes the girl’s body to the cemetery…..where it is resurrected in terrifying demonic form.
Directors Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer appear to have crafted an absolutely horrific new take on Stephen King’s classic horror tale, a story that the author has himself admitted scared him to the core out of all the spine chilling tales he’s crafted over the years, and this new horror film will definitely get under your skin with plenty of gruesome thrills.
Jason Clarke makes for a great appearance as a wayward man gone very wrong who defies the laws of nature with results that lead to plenty of dangerous results. The thrills come hard and fast and there’s an unnerving sense of dread that follows our characters around in this scary morality tale.
The film has a great backwoods gothic feel to it and with its focus on a grainy colour pallete that plays up the dark shadows of the forest and the coldness of the evil that comes to surround the Creed family certainly creeps into your bones.
Get ready for plenty of horror as you come to learn that dead is sometimes better when Pet Sematary arrives in cinemas on April 4.
