2018 was an interesting year for rising horror auteur Corin Hardy. While he achieved acclaim and a solid box office on his skin-crawling horror film The Nun, the director also managed to lose out on directing his dream project The Crow along with his lead actor and good friend Jason Momoa.
In cryptic fashion, Hardy took to Instagram and uploaded a picture of American Vampire’s protagonist Skinner Sweet, a sadistic outlaw in the Old West who comes to be transformed into the eponymous American Vampire and who then chooses a paramour in the form of Pearl Jones, an aspiring actress in the 1920s who Sweet saved by turning her into a vampire.

If this is indeed true then it is truly awesome news as American Vampire is one of the most exciting graphic novel series on shelves at the moment. While I’d be hesitant to believe that this is nothing more then rumour at the moment the possibilities of seeing a film or television adaptation of American Vampire with Hardy at the helm would be incredible and result in a truly frightening watch.
I’ll be keeping my eyes on this for sure.
