It’s here! The first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has arrived thanks to Star Wars Celebration, and it’s mythical imagery promises something extraordinary.
Watch the full teaser below:
Throwing audiences head first into the action as young Jedi Knight Rey (Daisy Ridley) faces down the onslaught of a First Order Tie Fighter on a secluded, barren desert planet, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker showcases some simply gorgeous imagery in this teaser including Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) running wild, Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) behind the controls of the Millennium Falcon and a symbolic image of hope as Rey and Leia (Carrie Fisher) embrace in this the final chapter of the sequel trilogy.
Following on from both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker finds director J.J. Abrams returning to take up the mantle of director, and the filmmaker once again has thrown his magic over this incredible project in what has been called the definitive end to the Skywalker saga.
While we have no plot points to go on at the moment and Abrams is obviously keeping his cards close to the chest, it has been suggested that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will take place one year after the events of The Last Jedi, and that the final battle between The Resistance and The First Order will be fought in order to decide whether peace or chaos will reign supreme across the galaxy.
Get ready for something truly epic when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrives in cinemas on December 19.
