Things keep moving forward with DC Universe’s Swamp Thing at a very quick pace and following on from the first teaser we’ve now got a look inside the new series with a scary new trailer.

Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed) returns home to Houma, Louisiana to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, where she develops a bond with scientist Alec Holland (Andy Bean). After Holland tragically dies, Arcane discovers the mysteries of the swamp and that Holland may not be dead after all.

Murky, grainy, and gruesome, this new trailer sets up the premise that Swamp Thing is definitely not going to be rated PG-13 and if you like your horror grindhouse style then this is one series you’ll really be wanting to get behind.

The elements are all coming together nicely here, and even though this trailer rushes forward at a kinetic pace we do get our first look at Crystal Reed’s Abby Arcane, a CDC doctor who is investigating a horrific epidemic in the Louisiana swamp that could have major consequences for the world’s population and who comes into contact with the being known as Swamp Thing (Andy Bean/Derek Mears).

The creep factor is definitely high here in Swamp Thing and with James Wan on as a producer, and providing his unique horror presence to the series, I think we can expect a series that will definitely send shivers down your spine.

Swamp Thing is set to premiere on May 31.
