Things keep changing up on Warrior and this new series is fast becoming the go-to action series that you need to be watching.

And now we’re here with episode 4, ‘The White Mountain’ and while there’s certainly the usual amount of fists of fury action. This episode focuses in on our characters and the growing complications that are beginning to affect them.

This is definitely true of Kieran Bew Big Bill whose own personal vices get the better of him during this episode and who is now in debt to the dangerous Fung Hai Tong, a violent gang who trace their lineage back to the Mongols of Ghengis Khan and who dispatch those who don’t pay with unflinching violence. It’s definitely a precarious position for Big Bill to be in and I have no doubt that it will only lead him further into a partnership with Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji).

And Ah Sahm you might ask, well, he’s busy playing house with Joanna Vanderham as Penny Blake, the mayor’s wife who has found her gangster bad boy and I’m of no doubt that this love affair is really going to unravel things in Chinatown. And even though it does get very steamy between the two of them rather quickly, it is readily apparent that both Koji and Vanderham have incredible chemistry with one another and they certainly make for a stunning couple together.

I really felt that ‘The White Mountain’ was a great set up episode, it’s laying the track for what is to come. And what is to come you might ask? Well, the gang war to end all gang wars and I’m pretty sure that things are about to get very interesting in Chinatown.

Warrior screens every Thursday on Neon.
