Clad in leather armour, brandishing a broad word and looking all kinds of heroic with his long white mane of hair billowing in the wind, Cavill strikes an impressive figure as this fantasy icon which has taken the world by storm thanks to author novels and the critically acclaimed video games based on the series.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

With the promise of high fantasy adventure, plenty of hack and slash moments and a good deal of romance, fantasy fans should be pretty excited for what comes next with The Witcher.
