Set at the dawn of the 20th Century and taking amidst during the defining battles of World War I, The King’s Man is pure action cinema gold, and those looking for a wickedly fun adventure will be in for a hell of a time here as Vaughn mixes history and espionage to create one very cool action film.
Lauded thespian Ralph Fiennes takes the lead here as the dashing adventurer known as The Earl of Oxford who takes a young veteran (Harris Dickinson) under his wing and instructs him in the arts of a gentleman spy, and raises him up to be a force for good for the common people. Noted as the king of the villains with performances in film’s such as Schindler’s List and the Harry Potter series, Fiennes makes for a great hero here, and he’s got an incredible handle on the character’s adventurer stance that has a dash of Shackleton mixed with James Bond for an all out awesome new hero.
This first teaser for The King’s Man is packed out with detail and there’s plenty to be excited about here thanks to its World War I setting. Not only are audiences exposed to the horrors of the trenches, but the teaser showcases a range of dangerous new characters including the Kaiser, Wilhelm II along with the presence of the sinister Rasputin. Vaughn has really created something special here with The King’s Man and audiences are going to be in for one very special treat.
