Times are a changing for Cillian Murphy’s gang lord turned politician Thomas Shelby and things are about to heat up in season five of Peaky Blinders.
Season five of Peaky Blinders finds the world thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929. Opportunity and misfortune are everywhere. When Tommy Shelby MP (Cillian Murphy) is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family’s future but that of the entire nation.
This heightened tension in season five of Peaky Blinders is sure to make for addictive viewing and with creator Steven Knight’s gripping narrative and the talent and range of Murphy, things are about to very interesting this season.
New cast members including With Sam Claflin (Adrift, The Nightingale), Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, The Miniaturist, The Witch) and Brian Gleeson (Phantom Thread, Logan Lucky) will really keep things interesting this season as well, and with the promise of dangerous times I’m fairly certain that we’ll see Thomas Shelby back behind the trigger of a tommy gun in quick succession.
Peaky Blinders will premiere on Sky TV on BBC UKTV on August 26 at 9.30pm.
