Alongside Matt Reeves’ The Batman, James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is one of 2021’s most anticipated films and now the visionary director has treated fans to the official cast as he moves to kickstart production in Atlanta.
Gunn took to Instagram to confirm the film’s official cast and it’s a line-up to get excited about.

Margot Robbie, Idris Elva, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, John Cena, Nathan Fillion, David Dastmalchian, Joaquin Cosio, Fluta Borg, Sean Gunn, Jean Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Peter Capaldi and Michael Rooker have all been confirmed to be involved in The Suicide Squad and this is one very impressive cast.
While there are very few details about what fans can actually expect from The Suicide Squad, Robbie, Davis, Kinnaman and Courtney are returning as their characters Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, Rick Flag and Captain Boomerang, who were originally seen in the 2016 film. The remaining actors will portray an entirely different set of characters, and Gunn was very upfront in his post and indicated that not all of the characters will make it out alive here.
The premise of Gunn’s involvement with a project like The Suicide Squad is very exciting and with his noted talent of delivery film’s that supply plenty of unexpected moments, I’m certain that we’ll see some interesting moments occurring here.
The Suicide Squad will arrive in cinemas on August 6, 2021.
