Things are moving fast for director James Gunn as he gets straight into work on his new super villain blockbuster The Suicide Squad, and with the start of principal photography, the director has updated fans with the assembling of his new cast.
Gunn took to Instagram to update fans the world over that The Suicide Squad has now kicked into production, and the cast of his new film joined him in sharing the good news.

Actors including Nathan Fillion, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchoir, Mayling Ng, Flura Borg and Gunn’s long time girlfriend Jennifer Holland and his brother Sean Gunn all where present and accounted for ahead of production on what is sure to be a very wild film.
Gunn recently confirmed the casting of The Suicide Squad which will see the return of Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman and Jai Courtney, alongside newcomers including Idris Elba, John Cena and Gunn favourite Michael Rooker and this film is shaping up to be very exciting.
While some of the new castings are confirmed including Dastmalchian who’ll be portraying Polka-Dot Man and Melchoir who’s playing Ratcatcher, other actors including Elba, Cena, Fillion and Rooker have yet to have their characters announced.
With a visionary like James Gunn at the helm, who is known to shake things up and who likes to throw in unique creative twists to his projects, we’re certain that they’ll be plenty of shocks awaiting audiences when the film is completed.
The Suicide Squad will arrive in cinemas on August 6, 2021.
