It’s one of my most anticipated films of 2019 and now we’ve got a brand new into the significance of the characters at the centre of Ford v Ferrari as star Matt Damon and revered comedian and all around car expert Jay Leno line-up to talk about the film and the importance of its production.
As part of Leno’s extremely popular show Jay Leno’s Garage, Leno and Damon met up to discuss the film and also got some time to play around with three of the most seminal cars produced by Carrol Shelby and Ford Motors including a 427 Cobra, a Mustang 350-GT and the Ford GT40.
With Damon channeling Shelby’s spirit, and Leno’s immense knowledge on display about his hero, these two men really got down to discussing car culture and pursuit of glory that made the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans such an important and revered moment in modern sporting history.

Ford v Ferrari is shaping up to be one of the most exciting releases of the year, not just because it will showcase the heated battle that took place on the Le Mans track between Ford and Ferrari, but alongside the duel performances of Damon and Christian Bale, director James Mangold (Logan, Walk The Line) has also shot everything in camera and required that no CGI be used in the creation of the film, which Damon commented on heavily in his interview with Leno.
If you’re seeking an adrenaline filled ride then make sure you check out Ford v Ferrari when it arrives in cinemas on November 14.
