Here’s the official synopsis for Fantasy Island below:
The enigmatic Mr. Roarke (Michael Peña), makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.
Wadlow really amps things up here in Fantasy Island and with the the support of Blumhouse Pictures he crafts an incredibly dark and compelling horror-fantasy film that examines the notions of our darker dreams and the lengths at which we will go to pursue them.
Stepping into the role of Mr. Rourke is Michael Peña and he brings a very different stance to the character than previously played by Ricardo Montalbán. Peña’s Rourke is a shadier, more mercurial figure who appears to have this devilish conscience like-quality and is ready to twist his guests fantasies ever so slightly. This of-course leads to plenty of on-screen horror moments and there are definitely going to be some solid scares on offer here.
Brace yourself for the unexpected when Fantasy Island arrives in cinemas next year on February 13.
