Mad Max: Fury Road was the blockbuster that took the world by storm and re-introduced audiences to the wasteland, along with the presence of man of few words, road warrior Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy). The film was a massive success taking in at the box office and director George Miller has been hard at work on two upcoming sequels: Mad Max: The Wasteland and Max Max: Furiosa.
Now thanks to MovieWeb we have an update regarding Mad Max: Furiosa which highlights that the film could be me making some radical new re-casting.
Actress Jodie Comer who stunned audiences with her work in Killing Eve and who has been hard at work on Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel has been linked to taking on the role of a younger Furiosa, in a prequel series that would focus on how she came to be the deadly effective warrior.
Rising star Richard Madden has also been linked to the film in the role of Dementus, with his character described as “breathtakingly handsome. An angel’s face, scarred by a deep forehead wound stitched together with shiny staples.”
While we’re still a long way from knowing how any of this potential casting does work out, the thought of a new Mad Max film, specifically a Furiosa spin-off is incredibly exciting and would help push this resurrected franchise even further forward.
