Dwayne Johnson gives update on ‘Hobbs & Shaw 2’
We’re getting through the COVID-19 crisis day by day and one celebrity who is helping keep peoples spirits up is megastar Dwayne Johnson. Johnson is regularly taking to Instagram Live to answer fan questions and talk about his new projects, and recently Johnson confirmed that things are in the works for a sequel to Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw.
While the sequel was a given thanks to a box office of 760 million, Hobbs & Shaw 2 is now in active development with longtime Fast & Furious writer Chris Morgan working on the script, and that Morgan is working to bring the previous unseen mystery villain, the director of the shadowy Eteon organization, back into the sequel as the new big bad.
While not confirmed, long time speculation has linked Keanu Reeves to the role of the Eteon director and it would be amazing to see him take on the role.
Going back to Johnson, he took to Instagram and in a chat with fans said, “we are developing now the next film, the next [Hobbs & Shaw] movie, and I’m pretty excited about it. Just gotta figure out the creative right now, and the direction we’re going to go.”
While it may be a long time before we finally see any work begin on Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, but it’s good to know that Dwayne Johnson is bringing it all together and one day soon we’ll have another awesome new blockbuster to check out.
