James Gun promises more Rocket in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3’
At the moment quarantine lockdown watch-parties are all the rage, with filmmakers and fans taking to Twitter to propose questions and give answers as they watch their respective works together, with directors making the whole DVD commentary thing a live experience.
One such filmmaker who recently took advantage of this trend was the much beloved James Gunn, who took to Twitter to screen Guardians of the Galaxy, and discussed the film at length with audiences around the world.
While Gunn did focus his attention on the film at hand and tried to stay away from any kind of heavy handed spoilers for future releases, particularly Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, the topic of mouth fan favourite character Rocket Racoon was brought up and it was here that Gunn offered up some interesting details.
Taken in reference to what kind of significance Rocket will play in the future, Gunn, via Twitter, said “I’ll just say Rocket is a big part of what’s happening in the future – and a lot of this stuff (like the scars we’re about to see on his back) sets up what I’ve been planning for Rocket all along.”

This inkling of information is a pretty amazing revelation, and seeing that Rocket is going to have a bigger role to play in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is something that I’m very excited about witnessing up on the big screen.
With the extension of the current Disney slate, it’s likely that we’ll hopefully see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 released sometime in 2023.
