When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe my favourite character and films contained within it are undoubtedly the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the James Gunn’s work on both Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 are incredible pieces of cinema that should be lauded.

While Gunn is currently at work finishing off The Suicide Squad, his next project following this is of-course going to be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 and the resulting film is sure to be awesome.

And while COVID-19 has plaugued the movie industry throughout 2020, Gunn has stated that he is still on track to reach his 2023 release deadline. As reported by MovieWeb, Gunn was recently asked about the state of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 on Twitter by a fan and whether it would be facing any type of delays, and the director was able to confirm that he’s still on track to reach his deadline.

In a statement released on Twitter, Gunn said “Thanks, friend. I can confirm that the plans for when we’re filming #GotGVol3 & when it’s being released have not changed at all over the past year & a half or so. Any rumors otherwise are false. I appreciate your caution!”

This is awesome news and confirms that the Guardians of the Galaxy will once again be back to rock out in the cosmos.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 will arrive in cinemas in 2023.
