It’s been a busy time for acclaimed thespian and director Kenneth Branagh lately, not only is he set to appear as the lead antagonist in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, but he’s also returning to the director’s chair and set to reprise his role as Detective Hercule Poirot in the much anticipated follow up to Murder on the Orient Express, with Death on the Nile.
Watch the all new teaser trailer below:
Here’s the official synopsis:
World-renowned detective Hercule Poirot is tasked with finding a murderer whilst on holiday in the Nile of Egypt. He soon discovers that the murder links up to a mysterious love triangle.
I thoroughly enjoyed the world, ambience and cinematic experience of 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express, and Branagh once again brings together a terrific supporting casting including Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Annette Benning, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Letitia Wright, Ali Fazal, Russell Brand and Tom Bateman to once again bring to life the mysteries and murder of Agatha Christie’s celebrated 1937 mystery Death on the Nile.
The setting now moves to Egypt, and while intrepid detective Monsieur Hercule Poirot is only trying to get away from it all he is once again caught up in a dangerous game of cat and mouse on board a riverboat that is traveling down the Nile River where a murder most foul is committed, and there is a secret killer hiding among the guests and staff.
Beautifully shot, and featuring a lavish sense of costuming and production design, Death on the Nile is sure to entrap audiences with it’s amazing visuals and gripping story, and I for one can’t wait to witness it.
