The release of Josh Boone’s long awaited superhero adaptation of The New Mutants is almost here, and now we’ve got a confirmed release date of September 3.
This confirmed release date is going to be a particularly joyous occasion as I like many people were worried that The New Mutants might go straight to streaming. But instead we’re going to be able to this incredibly unique adaptation up on the big screen like it should be, and this is going to make for an incredibly exciting cinematic experience.
Check out the final trailer for The New Mutants below:
Here’s the official synopsis:
Rahne Sinclair (Maisie Williams), Illyana Rasputin (Anya Taylor-Joy), Sam Guthrie (Charlie Heaton) and Roberto da Costa (Henry Zaga) are four young mutants being held in an isolated hospital for psychiatric monitoring. Dr. Cecilia Reyes (Alicia Braga), believing the teenagers are a danger both to themselves and to society as a whole, keeps a close eye on them as she struggles to teach them how to rein in their mutant abilities. When newcomer Danielle “Dani” Moonstar (Blu Hunt) joins the other patients in the facility, strange occurrences begin to take place. The hospital’s patients are plagued by hallucinations and flashbacks, and both their new mutant abilities – and their friendships – will be tested as they battle to make it out alive.
Get ready for plenty of chills and a whole lot of surprises when this thoroughly unique piece of superhero cinema arrives up on the big screen at select theatres on September 3.
