Watch the brand new behind-the-scenes featurette below:
Here’s the official synopsis:
Armed with only one word – Tenet – and fighting for the survival of the entire world, a mysterious secret agent (John David Washington) journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time.
Discussing his film, Nolan said “Tenet is an espionage story. It’s a classic spy story. I grew up loving spy stories, but to make it sing to today’s audiences I sort of felt like for me to engage with it I wanted it to have bigger possibilities.”
Expanding on the film’s central concept of time manipulation, termed ‘inversion’, Nolan said, “the film deals with this concept of inversion, which is the idea that the entropy of an object or person could be reversed. It’s very much cinematic, it’s something you have to see on the screen, to full engage with.”
One man who is incredibly excited about Tenet is star John David Washington who stars as the so-far unnamed Protagonist, a nameless espionage agent who is pulled into a daring global high-stakes chase to stop the world falling into a cataclymisc event. “Audiences have never seen anything like this before,” said Washington with a smile.
The actor also confirmed that his former life as a professional football player came in handy when working on the film, and that filming Tenet was an incredibly taxing experience that heavily drew on his physical abilities.
Alongside showing off plenty of incredible behind the scenes moments, this new featurette also clarified some details on some of the film’s key characters who include Robert Pattinson as Neil; a fellow espionage operative, Elizabeth Debicki as Kat; the mysterious ex-wife of the film’s antagonist, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Ives; a military officer and mercenary and Kenneth Branagh as Sator; Tenet’s vindictive and dangerous antagonist.
On his experience with Tenet, Baranagh described the film saying “it’s a really hair-raising high stakes thriller from an extraordinary filmmaker,”
Tenet is currently showing in cinemas and its the cinematic event audiences have to see IMMEDIATELY.
