Rami Malek stunned audiences with his performance in Bohemian Rhapsody and it resulted in a coveted Academy Award win for Best Actor. And now this noted thespian is channeling his energy into the highly anticipated 25th James Bond film No Time To Die and is shaping up a villain with plenty of intrigue for Daniel Crag’s James Bond to contend with.

A brand new featurette takes audiences inside the mindscape of the mysterious Safin, who has one nasty grudge that he will bring to bear against Bond in No Time To Die.

Watch the new clip below:

“What I really wanted with Safin was to make him unsettling,” describes Malek in the new clip. “Thinking of himself as being heroic. Safin is a formidable adversary, James Bond has to adapt to him.”

Director Cary Joji Fukunaga continues on from Malek describing No Time To Die’s chief antagonist and his actions and motivations that drive him, saying “what he wants, and what he’s willing to do makes him a very frightening character both personally to Bond, but also on a global level.”

These new insights from Malek and Fukunaga back-up what Bond producer Barbara Broccoli said about Safin back in 2019 where she described him as “the one that really gets under Bond’s skin. He’s a nasty piece of work”.

Alongside this brief insight into Safin’s character and motivations, the new featurette also showcases an amazing array of new footage and long-time Bond fans who have eagerly been awaiting the release of No Time To Die will be very happy with what is presented here.
