David Fincher presents the first trailer for ‘Mank’
When it comes to certified geniuses of filmmaking they don’t get much bigger than David Fincher, who with a body of work including Se7en, Fight Club, The Social Network and Gone Girl continually reshapes what is possible with the cinematic landscape.
Now Fincher is to set to bring the Golden Age of Hollywood into the Digital Age with Mank, the operatic story of the making of Citizen Kane, which is set to arrive on Netflix later this year.

Here’s the official synopsis:
The story centers around the life of Herman J. Mankiewicz as he wrote Citizen Kane, and the problems that arose with Orson Welles during production and leading up to the film’s release.
Alongside the full trailer, Netflix has also released a supplementary trailer designed specifically for Reddit as well. Watch it below:
Starring Academy Award winner Gary Oldman as Herman J. Mankiewicz, the famed screenwriter who crafted the story of Citizen Kane, and who traded blows equally with collaborator Orson Welles (Tom Burke) and subject matter William Randolph Hearst (Charles Dance), Mank looks to be a compelling tale of creative obsession and destruction and will be required viewing for all film fans.
Shot in crisp black and white and evoking the stylings of films of the 1930s, Fincher has gone all out to make this an extremely memorable watch, and audiences will be in for a very big treat with Mank.
Mank will arrive on Netflix on December 4.
