2020 has been a year for the history books, and for those of us who love cinema, it’s been a tough time with a lack of blockbuster titles to enjoy on the big screen. But we’re in sight of the goal posts now and Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman 1984 is sure to be a whole lot of fun and the blockbuster that we all need at this moment.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In 1984, during the Cold War, Diana (Gal Gadot) comes into conflict with two formidable foes—media businessman Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and friend-turned-enemy Barbara Minerva/Cheetah (Kristen Wiig), while reuniting with her love interest Steve Trevor (Steve Trevor).

Patty Jenkins is really doing something special with Wonder Woman 1984 as she resurrects the 1980s in all its excessive glamour with plenty of light, energy and straight-up fun. Star Gal Gadot is once again on fire as Diana, Princess of Themyscira, and she’s once again sure to enchant audiences with her heroic flair!

Adding to this epic cast are the likes of Chris Pine who returns as Diana’s true love Steve Trevor, who was previously though to have perished at the end of 2017’s Wonder Woman. Then there’s also Wonder Woman 1984’s duel antagonists with Kristen Wiig’s Barbara Ann Minerva who goes from meek nerd girl to full-on punk rock, Madonna, and she’s packing plenty of animal energy and sex appeal in the part. And standing next to Barbara and coaxing her into villain mode is Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord, a super slick, all-money 1980s ‘master of the universe’ who has his own diabolical plans at play.

Wonder Woman 1984 is really being set up to be something fun, and with the recent CCXP event in Brazil, we also got a brand new spot which showcased some awesome new footage.

With plenty of glamour and a whole heap of action, Wonder Woman 1984 is the blockbuster we can all get behind this year when it arrives IN CINEMAS on December 26.
