We recently were treated to a very exciting announcement of Marvel Studios forthcoming line-up thanks to Disney Investors Day 2020 and it’s about to get very exciting for Marvel Studios fans.

WandaVision

Launching on January 15, 2021 on Disney+, WandaVision starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will become the first official live-action Marvel Studios television show, and will follow the exploits of Wanda Maximoff and Vision as they settle into married life in this surrealist fantasy that is about to flip the MCU on its head.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Wanda Maximoff and Vision are living the ideal suburban life in the town of Westview, trying to conceal their powers. But as they begin to enter new decades and encounter television tropes, the couple suspects things are not as they seem.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Following the release of WandaVision on Disney+, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, starring Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/The Falcon and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, will debut on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
The six-part series mixes together the action and intensity of a Tom Clancy thriller with that of classic buddy cop films such as 46 Hours and Lethal Weapon and is sure to give audiences a serious rush!
Here’s the official synopsis:
After being handed the mantle of Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson teams up with Bucky Barnes in a worldwide adventure that puts their abilities to the test as they fight the anarchist group the Flag-Smashers.
Alongside Mackie and Stan, the series will see the return of previous characters, plus the introduction of new ones, including Daniel Bruhl as dangerous terrorist leader Baron Helmut Zemo, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, a former S.H.I.E.L.D operative and Wyatt Russell as John Walker, a militaristic successor to Captain America created by the U.S. government.
The new trailer has also been released and it sets the stage for a series that is gonna be one hell of a rush.

Loki

One of 2021’s most exciting debuts on Disney+ will see the return of Tom Hiddleston as fan favourite villain Loki, who has escaped after the events of Avengers: Endgame, taking the Tesseract with him, and who is now ready to cause as much trouble as possible.
Introducing elements to the MCU including the mysterious TVA, Loki is sure to spin audiences for a loop with its bold new storytelling.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Loki is brought to the mysterious Time Variance Authority organization after stealing the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame, and travels through time altering human history using it, ending up trapped in his own crime thriller.

What If…?

Taking things in the total opposite direction is Marvel Studios first animated series What If….?, which will debut mid-2021 and will consist of 10 original episodes exploring different ‘what if’ entries to the Marvel Cinematic Universe…which will provide plenty of surprises for long time fans.
Here’s the official synopsis:
The series explores what would happen if major moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe occurred differently.
Jeffrey Wirght will portray the character of Uatu/The Watcher, and many of the MCU’s biggest stars will return to appear in the series.

Taking the MCU in a new direction is teenage superhero series Ms. Marvel which will follow the adventures of a Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel, a young Muslim Pakistani-American teenager who suddenly develops superpowers and dreams of becoming a superhero like her idol Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).
Introducing audiences to newcomer Iman Vellani as Kamala and will examine just what life is like for a teenager trying to navigate a modern world that is filled with superheroes, and which will arrive on Disney+ in 2021.

Hawkeye

Production has been ramping up on Hawkeye, which will follow former Avengers Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) as he trains his successor Kate Bishop (Hailee Stanfield) to take up the mantle of the Avenger’s resident archer.
Currently, in production, Hawkeye is set to arrive on Disney+ in 2021.

We’ve been waiting with bated breath for the release of Black Widow to the big screen after it was unfortunately pulled from theatres due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it can now be confirmed that Black Widow will arrive in cinemas on May 7, 2021.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, Natasha Romanoff finds herself alone and forced to confront a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Romanoff must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Production has now wrapped on the upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which will introduce audiences to a brand new hero in the form of Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, a skilled martial artist who has to do battle with The Ten Rings terrorist organisation and its leader Wenwu/The Mandarin (Tony Leung).
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will also feature a cast including Awkwafina as Katy, Meng’er Zhang as Xialing, Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, Ronny Chieng as Jon Jon, Fala Chen as Jiang Lim and Florian Munteanu as Razor Fist.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Brace yourselves for the magic because the Master of the Mystic Arts will return in the much anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange finding himself facing new mystical threats, and will be directed by comic book film veteran Sam Raimi.
Described as a ‘horror film’ by Kevin Feige, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness features an incredible cast alongside Cumberbatch including Elizbeth Olsen and newcomer as Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, who will join the project alongside returning actors Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Thor: Love and Thunder

In what is regarded as one of 2022’s biggest impending release’s Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder is really going to bring the noise with a stacked cast including Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman, and now Kevin Feige has confirmed that Academy Award winner Christian Bale will be portraying the film’s villain Gor The God Butcher.
Thor: Love and Thunder will arrive in cinemas on May 6, 2022.
Black Panther 2

In 2020 we sadly lost an incredible performer in Chadwick Boseman who sadly died after a long battle with cancer, but who fought heroically to the very end. As such Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige have confirmed that the character of T’Challa will not be recast in the wake of Boseman’s passing and instead returning director Ryan Coogler is currently exploring new opportunities to continue the film’s story.
Black Panther 2 will arrive in cinemas on July 8, 2022.
Captain Marvel 2

Alongside the reveal of Ms. Marvel, production is also beginning to gear up for Captain Marvel 2 which has found a new director in Nia DaCosta and will star Brie Larson, Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris.
Captain Marvel 2 is scheduled to be released on November 11, 2022.
She-Hulk

In a very exciting announcement for the MCU, Kevin Feige has confirmed the official casting of Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, Bruce Banner’s cousin and a skilled lawyer in the MCU’s first-ever legal-dramedy.
Also co-starring in the series will be former MCU star Tim Roth who will return as Emil Blonsky/Abomination and Mark Ruffolo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk.
She-Hulk is set to premiere in 2022.
Moon Knight

One of the MCU’s strangest and most ‘out there’ heroes is mentally unstable vigilante Marc Spector aka Moon Knight and he’s coming to Dinsey+ in a brand new Moon Knight series.
While rumours are speculating that Oscar Issac may take on the character, it’s still to be confirmed, but what is confirmed is that the six episode series will be helmed by director Mohamed Diab, and that it will include Egyptina history and mythology within its storytelling.
Moon Knight will arrive on Disney+ in 2022.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

In a very fun announcement, Disney+ fans can gather around for the joy that only the Guardians of the Galaxy can bring with a very special holiday mini-film in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
Premiering on Disney+ in December 2022, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
will be shot during production of Guardins of the Galaxy Vol.3, which will arrive in cinemas on 2023, and both projects will be directed by James Gunn.

The legacy of Iron Man will be revised in two unique projects exclusively coming yo Disney+. The first will follow the adventures of young inventor and future superheroine Riwi Williams in IronHeart.
Debuting initially on Disney+, the character of Riwi Williams will also find her way into the greater MCU and actress Dominique Thorne has been cast as Riwi Williams/Ironheart.
Armour Wars

Continuing the legacy of Tony Stark/Iron Man will be his best friend and confidant James Rhodes/War Machine who will star in his own Disney+ series Armour Wars, which will adapt the cult classic storyline to Disney+.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Two of my favourite MCU characters happen to be Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lily) and both of these characters, alongside the greater Pym/Lang family including Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), will return to the MCU in the much anticipated Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Director Peyton Reed will once again helm the project which will explore further aspects of the Quantum Realm, along with introducing characters to a now teenaged Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) and nefarious future tyrant Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors).
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will arrive in cinemas in 2022.
Fantastic Four

And in a shocking announcement that sent the internet into a buzz of speculation, Kevin Feige confirmed that Marvel’s first family, The Fantastic Four, will make their debut into the MCU in the coming years and that Jon Watts (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home) will be directing the film.
It’s a very good time to be a Marvel Studios fan with all the possibilities present in both the cinema and Disney+ and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
