Denzel Washington. Rami Malek. Jared Leto. Three Academy Award-winning performers who have now come together for a gripping and intense new neo-noir crime thriller in The Little Things. And for those who like their thrillers to take them to the edge, well, you’ll be in for plenty of surprises with this one.
Watch the brand new trailer below:
Here’s the official synopsis:
Clashes between Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe “Deke” Deacon (Washington) and L.A. Sheriff Department Sergeant Jim “Jimmy” Baxter (Malek) occur during the investigation of a serial killer (Leto).
Directed by John Lee Hancock (The Rookie, The Founder), The Little Things is a dark and gripping crime thriller that pulls audiences in with the strength of its three leading performers, along with its pulsing tale of the hunt for a mysterious serial killer.
While Malek’s L.A. Sheriff Department Sergeant Jim “Jimmy” Baxter seems to be the more ‘by the book’ detective, Washington is the wild card of the bunch as Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe “Deke” Deacon. And in my view appears to be hiding a lot more than he’s letting on. My own thoughts have wondered on this and while Leto’s potential serial killer Albert Sparma may be a dangerous man, Washington’s Deke appears to be the far more sinister character who is willing to cross any number of lines if it leads to justice.
The trailer is boiling over with a dark neo-noir style, and the intensity of the action is sure to be combustible. Cinematographer John Schwartzman’s burning palette of dark lights also gives the film a very ominous feel to it.
The Little Things is sure to grab the attention of its audience and is shaping up to be a definite must-watch.
The Little Things will arrive in cinemas on January 29.
