Zack Snyder presents a new look at “Army of the Dead’
It’s been some time since virtuoso filmmaker Zack Snyder graced movie screens, and along with his re-working of 2017’s Justice League, which will arrive in a new director’s cut in March. Snyder is now also placing the finishing touches on his new zombie-action-heist thriller Army of the Dead.
Set to follow on from his first feature film, the critically lauded zombie horror-thriller Dawn of the Dead, Army of the Dead has long been a passion project for Snyder and he’s ready to unleash it’s carnage on Netflix later this year.
Here’s the official synopsis:
A group of mercenaries plot a heist on a Las Vegas casino during a zombie outbreak.
While Snyder has kept fairly quiet on the film, we do know that heavy-hitting action star Dave Bautista is leading an ensemble cast as tough-willed and no-nonsense mercenary Scott Ward, who decides to put a squad together to undertake a daring robbery, along with rescuing his wild child teenaged daughter Kate (Ella Purnell) in the process, in a zombie-infested future Las Vegas.
And it’s no doubt gonna be gnarly.
Army of the Dead is the perfect place for Snyder to flex his stylized genre sensibilities, and this testosterone-soaked, muscled up horror-horror-heist blend is sure to lead to plenty of on-screen carnage for film fans.
Along with undertaking writing-producing and directing, Snyder also acted as his own cinematographer and shot Army of the Dead use a series of brand new custom-built RED Digital Cinema Cameras that were engineered specially for use in the film.
Army of the Dead is sure to be a crazy action rush and will arrive on Netflix later this year.
