One of 2022’s biggest blockbuster cinematics will be Jurassic World: Dominion, and this third chapter in the Jurassic World series, which follows Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, is set to bring the mythos of the entire series to the competition.
As reported by MovieWeb, director Colin Trevorrow is the middle of hyping up the third film which is currently in post-production, and completed its shotting last year, being a production that was able to work around the COVID-19 pandemic in the process, and successfully complete their shoot through strict adherence to quarantine and social distancing guidelines.
Of the film’s significance as a final chapter to the series, Trevorrow said:
“To me, [Dominion] is a culmination of one story that’s been told. When you got to the end of the Jurassic Park trilogy, it may not have been as clear in what the complete story of those three movies was because they were a bit more episodic in the way that they were approached. But this trilogy is not that way. It’s very much a serialized story. What was important for me was, when you watch Dominion, you really feel like you are learning how much of a story that first set of movies was and how everything that happened in those movies actually informs what ultimately is able to happen in this. If kids who are born today are going to be presented with six Jurassic Park movies, you hope the parents will buy them the box set, you hope they are going to get to feel like they watch one long story.”
Jurassic World: Dominion is set to be a major event in the series as it will join-up the characters and events of both the Jurassic Park franchise and the Jurassic World franchise with a stellar cast lined-up including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, all of whom have major roles in the franchise, and for long time fans of the series this is one to get very excited about.
While we’ve got a bit of a long weight ahead of us before we can actually see the final product of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the cast and narrative of this story is something to get hyped up about and I can’t wait to see what comes next with the franchise.
Jurassic World: Dominion will arrive in cinemas on June 10, 2022.
