Brace yourself for guns, money, zombies and Vegas in ‘Army of the Dead’

Visual maestro Zack Snyder is returning to the director’s chair, hot off the restoration of Justice League, Snyder is back to mine another familiar genre and is returning to the scene of the zombie apocalypse for Army of the Dead. And this first teaser looks mental!

Here’s the official synopsis:

A group of mercenaries plot a heist on a Las Vegas casino during a zombie outbreak.

Jumping headfirst into the action of Army of the Dead is all-out action star Dave Bautista as Scott Ward, a no-nonsense mercenary who see the opportunity to pillage a fortune in loose currency from all of the Las Vegas casinos during the midst of a rising zombie apocalypse before the government nukes the site. But Ward’s quest to enter the zombie-filled vegas is also a personal one as he’s on a desperate mission to save his daughter Kate (Ella Purnell) who is lost in the midst of the madness.

This teaser for Army of the Dead is wild, crazy and totally nuts and is Snyder right back in his element of high-concept, blockbuster action and audiences looking for a manic rush will be in for a treat with this one.

For Snyder, Army of the Dead is also a return to the zombie genre as it was 2004’s solid re-imagining of Dawn of the Dead, which also happened to be written by James Gunn, that Snyder broke through with as his first film, and the director appears to be having a wickedly fun time back in the zombie sandpit here.

Brace yourself for a wild watch when Army of the Dead arrives on Netflix on May 21.
