When it comes to childhood films that bear a great significance for me, 1996’s Space Jam starring the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan, is one of my all-time favourites and now 25 years later new GOAT LeBron James is ready to take things to a brand new level in the hotly anticipated sequel, Space Jam: A New Legacy.

Watch the brand new trailer below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

When basketball champion and global icon LeBron James and his young son Dom (Cedric Joe) – who dreams of being a video game developer – are trapped in a virtual space by a rogue algorithm named Al-G Rhythm (Don Cheadle), LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the Al-G’s digitized champions on the court.

Packing together wicked court basketball action, and some impressive CGI that creates a brand new fantastical world, Space Jam: A New Legacy is going to be one very fun piece of big-screen entertainment for audiences of all ages and whether you’re a long time basketball fan, or are only just starting to pick-up the game, this film is gonna appeal.

NBA superstar LeBron James picks up the mantle from Michael Jordan and rolls with it here as he steps into a brand new animated universe and enlists the help of Bugs Bunny, along with his Looney Tune pals including Daffy Duck, Lola Bunny, Porky Pig, Tweetie and the rest of the crew to step onto the court and save his son from Don Cheadle’s rogue AI Al-G Rhythm.

Audiences are definitely going to feel the slam with this one, and they are going to be in for a wild ride thanks to wicked basketball action and the engaging story of a father doing everything he can to save his son. Mix in the Looney Tunes and things are bound to get interesting, and this is definitely a sequel that’s been well worth the wait.

Space Jam: A New Legacy will arrive in cinemas on July 15.
