Any time you see Tayler Sheridan’s name attached to a new project you need to sit up and take notice, and now one of Hollywood’s best working writer-directors has joined forces with Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie for a tough-no-nonsense neo-noir revenge thriller in Those Who Wish Me Dead.

Watch the brand new trailer below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

Centred around a young teenage boy who witnesses the murder of his father near a large national forest. Pursued by assassins intent on silencing him, he soon meets a veteran fire warden and wilderness survival expert Hannah Faber (Jolie) who offers him shelter in her lookout tower. When the assassins set fire to the forest in order to cover their tracks, the pair must both survive a deadly blaze that threatens to consume them and outwit the killers on their trail.

Sheridan and Jolie dial the volume way up with this one, and Those Who Wish Me Dead is sure to get your blood pumping thanks to its deadly setting and tense thriller twists. The new trailer which is set to Johnny Cash’s seminal country track “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” burns with intensity and shows that Sheridan has really used the film’s Montana setting to its fullest and when the forest starts burning that’s when things really start to get intense.

Jolie leads the film as wilderness survival expert Hannah Faber and brings a considerable level of drama and emotion to the film as a woman who is haunted by past actions and mistakes. But when she’s suddenly placed in a position to care for this wayward child, a deep and wild maternal instinct kicks in and she’ll do whatever is necessary to protect him from the threat and the fires that are surrounding the both of them.

Jolie has really taken to Sheridan’s high-intensity material and audiences are going to be in for something special thanks to these two extraordinary artists and I’m excited to see where this film goes next.

Those Who Wish Me Dead will amp up your adrenaline when it arrives in cinemas on May 13.
