Here’s the official synopsis:
In 1961, Kempton Bunton, a 60 year old taxi driver, stole Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. He sent ransom notes saying that he would return the painting on the condition that the government invested more in care for the elderly.
Director Roger Michell (Notting Hill, My Cousin Rachel) delivers a film that looks incredibly heartfelt and sincere and with the likes of Broadbent and Mirren in the lead roles of Bunton and his wife Dorothy, audiences are assured to have a story that will most definitely touch their hearts.
Containing all the feel-good energy that we love to experience from the movies, The Duke is sure to offer up plenty of fun moments for audiences in cinemas, and this is most definitely a film you’ll want to see in cinemas later this year.
