Here’s the official synopsis:
In the open world video game Free City, an amalgamation of Grand Theft Auto and Fortnite, Guy (Reynolds) is a non-player character (NPC) working as a bank teller. Thanks to a code developed by programmers Milly (Comer) and Keys (Keery) inserted into Free City by the publisher Antoine (Waititi), Guy becomes aware of his world being a video game, and takes steps to make himself the hero, creating a race against time to save the game before the developers can shut it down.
Director Shawn levy promises audiences a whole new level of crazy with Free Guy, and this new trailer amps everything all the way up as Guy, a non-player character (NPC) in the destructively explosive Free City suddenly sparks a sense of free will and is thrown headfirst into a crazy mission to save the entire world.
This brand new trailer gives us an all-new look at the action of Free Guy, along with focusing on the kick-ass Molotov Girl (Jodie Comer), and slightly kooky video game publisher Antoine (Taika Waititi), and promises an uncontrollably fun joy ride that audiences are seriously going to enjoy.
Reynolds himself is especially pumped for this movie saying “I haven’t been this fully immersed and engaged in something since Deadpool”, and with an endorsement like that you know that Free Guy is gonna be something wild.
