It’s a very exciting time to be a Marvel Studios fan, not only do we have the arrival of Black Widow in 13 days, but both Eternals and Loki are completely changing up the game in the science fiction space. But for those who are wanting some more earthbound action get ready for a martial arts epic in Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings which has just premiered its brand new trailer and this one HITS HARD!

Watch the all-new trailer below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

When Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) is drawn into the clandestine Ten Rings organization, he is forced to confront the past he thought he left behind.

Building off of the momentum from the first trailer, this all-new trailer for Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings takes us into the backstory of runaway hero Shang Chi (Simu Lui), who was raised at the destructive whims of his brutal father Wenwu (Tony Leung), who raised him to be a deadly warrior. In this new trailer, we see Shang Chi’s turbulent childhood and how he desperately tried to escape the legacy of the Tne Rings and his terrorist father’s plans for world domination. But with nowhere left to run, Shang Chi returns to set things right and become the hero his father never thought he could be.

I’ve long felt that Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings would very much be MarvL Studio’s answer to a James Bond film, and this trailer definitely expands the canvas of the MCU and introduced audiences to a powerful new hero. As a master of the martial arts, Shang Chi makes for a deadly adversary and he’s set on a collision course with his powerful father and the destiny and fate that binds the two of them together.

The presence of Hong Kong cinema legend Tony Leung as Wenwu is a piece of incredible casting for Marvel Studios, and the revered actor will be starring in his first-ever Hollywood feature thanks to Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. As Wenwu, Leung is a slick, charming and dangerous villain and he’s definitely got a complicated relationship with his son Shang Chi. Rising star Simu Liu does a job going toe-to-toe with Leung and I’m definitely excited to see these two together on screen.

Then there’s the action, and fans of fast and furious martial arts action will be very pleased with the scope, velocity and scale of the action in Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. And did we mention that cult favourite Hulk villain, The Abomination, is back! Yep, there’s so much to be excited about with this movie!

Brace yourself for the fists of fury when Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings arrives in cinemas on September 2.
