Things are very much looking up for Sir Ridley Scott right now, not only do we have the upcoming release of his medieval epic The Last Duel arriving IN CINEMAS on October 14, but now in a surprise announcement, we have the new trailer for his operatic tale of family, business, fashion, betrayal and murder in House of Gucci starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver.
Watch the brand new trailer for House of Gucci below:
Here’s the official synopsis:
House of Gucci is inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.
Based on the best selling book by The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden, the all-new trailer for House fo Gucci presents a beautifully luxurious tale of operatic elegance and brutal betrayal as it chronicles the life and fortunes of Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga) and her whirlwind romance to businessman and heir to the Gucci fashion empire Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) which ultimately led to disaster and death.
Shot with Scott’s masterful eye for detail, the production design and costume design are absolutely beautiful to look upon and present a world of utter glamour and elegance and every fashionista is going to want to watch this amazing film. Telling his story over three decades, Scott draws upon the similar ideas that were present in his 2017 film All The Money in the World, and House of Gucci has themes of rampant excess and complicated human relationships at its centre, and with the focused performances from Gaga and Driver, I’m certain that audiences are going to be in for plenty of surprises with this new film.
As my favourite filmmaker of all time, I’m very intrigued to see what comes next with Scott’s House of Gucci and was in awe of this first look footage. Set to Blondie’s ‘Heart of Glass’, the trailer paints a picture of opulence at its most excessive and Academy Award Winner Lady Gaga completely owns the screen with her performance as Reggiani.
Brace yourself for a monumental tale of family, fashion, power, betrayal and murder with a superb cast and some very impressive visuals when House of Gucci arrives IN CINEMAS on November 25.
