Behold the immortal power of Marvel Studios ‘Eternals’
I’ve long stated that Marvel Studios Eternals is my most anticipated Marvel release of 2021. I’ve been counting down the days till it arrives in cinemas and with its unique mix of Jack Kirby storytelling and sci-fi action I knew we would be in for something very special. And now we have a brand new trailer and a massive look at the new film…and I can confirm that Eternals is going to be EPIC!
Watch the brand new trailer for Eternals now:
Here’s the official synopsis:
After an unexpected tragedy following the events of Avengers: Endgame, the Eternals — an immortal alien race created by the Celestials who have secretly lived on Earth for over 7,000 years — reunite to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants.
Academy Award winner Chloe Zhao, fresh off the monumental success of Nomadland has joined the MCU and is ready to bring to life the science-fiction majesty of Eternals, a Jack Kirby created team of extra-terrestrial superhero gods who have serious powers and who are ready to arrive on the big screen with plenty of fanfare.
Directing an incredible ensemble cast who include Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie, Eternals looks utterly epic, and fans of the science fiction genre and the greater cosmic MCU will be very excited with what Zhao has brought to the big screen here.
The new trailer takes us right into the heart of the action and showcases the Eternals interactions not only with humanity, but also their battle with the devilish Deviants. We get to see Richard Madden’s immortal Ikaris take to the skies and unleash considerable fury with his hyper-charged cosmic energy eye beams, and then there’s Angelina Jolie as elite warrior Thena, who is pretty lethal when it comes to hand to hand combat and who is able to craft cosmically charged blades which she uses to great effect.
Zhao has captured this film in an utterly beautiful light and the photography we get to see here is exceptionally radiant. Zhao also focuses in on the narrative of Eternals and key questions such as the fallout following the Infinity War and defeat of Thanos and the consequences of the ‘Snap’, alongside the Eternals resolve not to partake in it are addressed within the trailer. We also get a sense of the complex character interactions that exist here amongst the Eternals and they’re going to be some very interesting drama at hand.
Eternals is far and away my most anticipated Marvel release of 2021 and after seeing this trailer I am very excited as to what come next. This film looks majestic, mythical and beautifully crafted and I think audiences are going to be in for a very big surprise when Eternals arrives in cinemas this year.
Eternals is set to arrive in cinemas on November 4.
